Amarillo College's Interior Design program will give you design education and training that will help you move onto a four-year university--or become an interior designer!
AC wants you to get a balance of technical, creative and business aspects of the interior design industry, including residential and commercial projects.
You will learn:
- drawing
- elements of design
- materials, methods, estimating
- color theory
- color application
- commercial and residential design
- space planning
- textiles
The Associate of Applied Science degree will give students the foundation to obtain a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university. There are also two certificate programs. The regular certificate gives students the foundation to enter the workforce in the areas of furniture stores, wallpaper sales, carpet sales, and general assisting in the area of design. The professional certificate is an additional course of study offered to the graduate of the AAS degree program.
