As a student in Amarillo College's Nuclear Medicine program, you will gain the basic skills required of a beginning staff technologist practicing in nuclear medicine.
When you graduate, you'll be eligible to write the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the certification examination administered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
You will learn:
- nuclear medicine data processing
- nuclear medicine instrumentation
- nuclear medicine physics
- radiochemistry and radiopharmacy
- nuclear medicine methodology
- patient care
All of the major requirement courses (NMTT) are to be taken in a sequential order or at the advisement of the department major advisor. A student will have no more than 36 months to complete all major requirements.
