Radiation Therapy

As a student in AC's Radiation Therapy program, you will study a comprehensive curriculum that will allow you to perform the duties and responsibilities of an entry level radiation therapist.

The Radiation Therapy program is affiliated with four modern and progressive facilities that offer the latest in radiation therapy equipment: Joe Arrington Cancer Center (Lubbock), Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center (Amarillo), South Plains Regional Medical Center (Clovis) and New Mexico University Medical Center (Lubbock).

You will learn:

  • radiographic anatomy and physiology
  • technical procedures
  • ethics and law in radiation therapy
  • oncology
  • dosimetry

A typical student typically participates in more than 3,000 therapeutic procedures and 1,500 lab hours during the program. Approximately ten students are graduated annually.
