In the 2017 Community College Survey of Student Engagement report students at Amarillo College note an engaging faculty, heightened academic standards, and superior support beyond the classroom.

AC Music Department is pleased to introduce Young Artist Piano Series

The Amarillo College Music Department is pleased to announce a yearlong schedule of events featuring an international slate of accomplished visiting pianists, and a collection of talented AC students, too.

AC’s Young Artist Piano Series is the brainchild of Dr. Diego Caetano, assistant professor of music, who will be the initial featured performer when the series debuts on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Concert Hall Theater.

Amarillo College chooses ‘The Things They Carried’ as this year’s Common Reader

A highly acclaimed collection of short stories about a platoon of American soldiers in the Vietnam War will serve as the Common Reader this school year at Amarillo College.

The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien was a finalist in 1990 for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. The book will be utilized in a variety of AC classes throughout the year, including all First Year Seminar classes.
